Dr. Peter Kross, owner and founder of Rivergate,graduate of the University of Bologna. Grew up in the suburbs of Manhattan as one of three children. After receiving his bachelor’s degree from the Ohio State University, he attended the University of Bologna School of Veterinary Medicine where he graduated with honors in 1982. After graduation he worked as a staff veterinarian at North Shore Animal League and then founded and since has operated Rivergate Veterinary Clinic for the past 20 years, where he performs medical and surgical care for dogs and cats in mid-town Manhattan. Dr. Kross has served as a board member for the Delta Society, POWARS (Pet Owners With Aids and Arc) and for the company of Animals Fund. He has also been a spokesperson for the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), with appearances on Good Morning America, Fox and Friends and the Rachel Ray Show amongst others. He also writes for the “Ask the Vet” column for Disney On-Line. He has rescued and owned boxers for many years, and you may occasionally hear him referred to as the “Boxer Doctor” in Manhattan. His hobbies include spending time on his horse farm, yoga, scuba diving, cooking and being around animals of any kind.





Dr. Jennifer Nudleman is originally from Laguna Beach, CA. She
completed her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from University of
California, Irvine and went on to receive a Masters in Environmental
Policy from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. Dr.
Nudleman earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Western
University of Health Sciences in Los Angeles. She moved to NYC to
complete an internship in veterinary medicine and surgery at Fifth
Avenue Veterinary Specialists. She pursued her professional interests
in Europe, Asia and Latin America prior to joining the Rivergate team
in 2009. Dr. Nudleman currently lives in Brooklyn with her husband and
their dog Josie.









Dr. Jessica Lauren Melman is a third generation veterinarian, as both her father and late grandfather were veterinarians in the Washington DC area, where she grew up.  She received her Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and then matriculated to the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School. She graduated from veterinary school in 2003, and concurrently, received a business certificate from the Wharton Small Business Development Center. Following her graduation, Jessica completed an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Manhattan Veterinary Group and has been a small animal general practitioner in Manhattan since completing her internship. Her veterinary interests include dermatology, internal medicine, oncology and veterinary pharmaceuticals. Outside of work, she enjoys running, cooking, writing, traveling and spending time with Quincy, her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She has appeared on ABC News’s Good Morning America as a veterinary consultant, was a guest speaker at Pet Fashion Week in Sao Paulo, Brazil in April 2010 and has recently been a repeat guest speaker on Sirius Doctor Radio’s Pet Health Segment. She is also a member of the Dog Writers Association of America and writes columns for www.goodnewsforpets.com.
